Major Career Achievements

Over the past 20 years Jim has ran his own business building lightweight racing Catamarans for the international market, he also ran concurrently a spray painting workshop for a 6 Year period, which subcontracted to the state government:

  • Achieved a position of worldwide market leadership in niche market for lightweight racing catamarans in the 1990's.
  • Designed, manufactured, and successfully promoted a new class of catamaran into the market.
  • Subcontracted building the 49er dinghy in 1994, requiring a very short lead time to meet Olympic committee deadlines. Met the schedule and budget, allowing the customer to be selected as the 2 man high performance dinghy for the Sydney Olympics.
  • Recruited and trained workshop staff and apprentices to world’s best standards, Including Marine industry apprentice of the year 2000.
  • Bendigo Business Excellence Awards 1999, overall Winner.
